Sáng ngày 12/10, Phó Thủ tướng Trịnh Đình Dũng đã dẫn đầu đoàn công tác tới Hòa Bình để thị sát và chỉ đạo công tác cứu hộ, cứu nạn do sạt lở đất tại khu vực xóm Khanh, xã Phú Cường, huyện Tân Lạc, tỉnh Hòa Bình. Tham gia đoàn công tác có ông Hoàng Văn Thắng - Thứ trưởng Bộ Nông nghiệp và Phát triển nông thôn, Phó trưởng ban thường trực Ban chỉ đạo Trung ương về Phòng chống thiên tai.

Tại hiện trường, Phó Thủ tướng Trịnh Đình Dũng yêu cầu lực lượng chức năng bằng mọi biện pháp, nỗ lực cao nhất để nhanh chóng tìm kiếm những nạn nhân còn mất tích. Chính quyền địa phương phối hợp với các cơ quan liên quan và các gia đình lo hậu sự chu đáo cho người đã mất.

Tại đây, Phó Thủ tướng đã động viên các chiến sĩ, lực lượng cứu hộ cứu nạn và hỏi thăm chia sẻ với những gia đình gặp nạn.

Do hiện trường vụ sạt lở rất phức tạp, đất đá còn có khả năng sạt lở tiếp, Phó Thủ tướng yêu cầu đảm bảo các biện pháp an toàn cho lực lượng cứu nạn.
